Supporting Parents of Autism (SPA) is a time to come together with other parents to share your struggles, challenges, and joys. We come from all walks of life, have children that are toddlers, school aged, and young adults. We have many shared experiences and are here to support one another. SPA is offered at no charge to support members of our community. Please register to become a WAAA member prior to attending.

“SPA is a sanctuary of support where I have felt deeply validated, respected, and understood. This group provides support to parents of children, teens, and adults on the autism spectrum. The facilitator Heidi is highly skilled, compassionate and respectful of parents in this confidential group. She provides a framework with various themes and questions to facilitate support, dialogue and personal insights. She is highly supportive of parental well-being and stress management. There is deep sharing  and sometimes laughter or tears, as people relate their triumphs, joys, hardships, and  hopes for the future.  No matter whether life is going well for your child, or if someone is in crisis, the true complexities of parenting someone with autism are understood here. This  group is a powerful reminder that in coming together, we can make our children’s lives better as well as our own.” ~SPA parent

  1. Hello,
I am a parent with a child on the spectrum and would like to come to play/support groups and for support on the second Tuesday of each month. My son’s behavior specialist told me about your organization and thought we could benefit from meeting other parents as well. He was diagnosed 2 years ago next month. Where is the location for these programs? I live in North Seattle.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Sincerely,
    Maggie Dangol
